Spatial analysis of the gathering of the transformation industry in the modern and traditional segments in the Paraná state

The installation of an industry and the formation of agglomerates are important factors for the economic dynamics and the generation of wealth, contributing to the development of the region and its wrapping. It should be noted that the technological level of the industry can influence the results generated. For this reason, this research aims to analyze spatially the causes of the agglomeration of the transformation industry (IT), especially between the modern and traditional segments, for the municipalities of the state of Paraná in the year 2017. For this reason, the IT sectors in two segments: traditional (low technology) and modern (high technology). Subsequently, the Normalized Concentration Index (NCI) was measured and spatial regression was estimated. The results showed that the traditional segment has a spatial impact influencing the municipality and neighboring neighbors, unlike the modern segment that did not reach significance. In addition, the factors influencing the locational decision are, in the great majority, different for each segment.
